Albums of the Year

These albums are some of my top rated albums of the year and corresponding discoveries.

Water From Your Eyes. Everyone’s Crushed. [Album cover], Matador Records, 2023.

Laurel Halo. Belleville. [Album cover], Awe, 2023.

Pulgas. (2023). The Book of Pulgas [Album cover]. Oscorp

Ryuichi Sakamoto. 12. [Album cover], Milan Records, 2023.

At an 83% overall rating, this album is the 6th highest-scoring album of all time on my list.

The artist, formerly known as Elysia Crampton, delivers an album that introduces sounds and experiences rarely heard or felt in music. Blending traditional Peruvian folk music with modern electronic composition, Chuquimamani-Condori creates a work that I interpret as a commentary on the raw and beautiful nature of life. It is a tapestry of singular moments stitched together to reflect the complexity of our minds.

This album scores perfect 10’s in Cool Factor, Innovation, Originality, Produciton/Composition and Recommendation Ratings.

I encourage you to experience this album with headphones.
